Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering

The Electronics and Communications Engineering Program extends over a four-and-half-year period offered exclusivelyon-campus basis. The program is offered in 9 semesters. Nine semesters are 16-week fall/spring semesters given over four-and-half years. In the summer semester of the third year (Semester VI), students are highly encouraged to participate in a practical training program with a local, regional, or international organization. BEng in Electronics and Communications Engineering with Emphasis on Advanced Electronics or Advanced Communications

PROGRAM MISSION

The mission of the undergraduate bachelor of Engineering program in Electronics and Communications Engineering Is to deliver high quality undergraduate education which combines balanced theoretical and practical topics in Electronics and Communications Engineering to provide students with the skills and abilities to pursue successful careers and grow into lifelong learners with the ability to provide professional services of the highest quality to the community, commit to the ethical and professional responsibilities, and expand, through teaching and research, the knowledge and technology bases in Electronics and Communications Engineering required at the global level while focusing on the needs of Kuwait and the region. The program shall also prepare students to serve the community in lead teaching, public and private sectors positions.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Electronics and Communications Engineering program is designed to prepare students for continuous learning and fruitful professions.

Our graduates will be able to:

  •  Apply the knowledge and skills to perform at an engineer level and excel in a field related to their program.
  •  Pursue specialized training and research in their field and familiarize themselves with changing technology in the workplace.
  •  Engage in life-long learning, career growth, leadership, and community service work.
  •  Perform satisfactorily if they choose to continue their education for master’s program.
  •  Conduct themselves as ethical professionals with integrity, uphold social responsibility and promote sustainability.

STUDENT OUTCOMES (COMPLIANT WITH ABET)

The Student Outcomes (SOs) adopted by KCST for the ECE program are the ABET Student Outcomes.

Graduates of the program will have:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
